Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: PhD Scholarships for 2011

Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) logoHigher Education Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), has invited applications for 10 Ph.D. scholarships from the regular/permanent male and female government college teachers.

Applicants should have at least 2 years regular service in the government colleges, in the subject of English, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Botany, Zoology and Political Science, with age not more than 40 years on the closing date. Scholarships will be awarded on open merit basis.

Following is the breakup of scholarships:

  • Foreign Ph.D.: 04 scholarships
  • Split Ph.D.: 02 scholarships
  • Indigenous Ph.D.: 04 scholarships

Application Form can be downloaded on the department’s website as well as from the office of Director Higher Education, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for award of scholarships is:

  1. Age not more than 40 years on the closing date.
  2. NTS / GAT for indigenous and International GRE for split and foreign Ph.D. program.
  3. Candidates already registered for M.Phil. and Ph.D in any university are not eligible.
  4. M.A. /M.Sc. first division CPGA 3.00 and English 2nd division are eligible to apply.
  5. A bond / affidavit shall be signed by the candidate with the government after selection.
  6. Final clearance from the Directorate of Higher Education shall be provided after final selection.

Application Deadline

Applications of eligible candidates should reach the office of the Director Higher Education, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa not later than August 25, 2011.

Admission are being given to BS-4year programs in the subjects of Botany,Chemistry,Pashto,HPE,Law, Economics under semester system of examination.Education in Pakistan is now becoming free to some extent.

The Post Graduate College No.1, Bannu is leading towards standard education as specified by the HEC/HED.180 students have taken admissions in Zoology,Physics,computer,Electronics,Political Science and Economics, 30 students in each subject in BS-4years Degree program.

Bannu college is affiliated with the Bannu University of Science and Technology. The teaching staff of more than 130 in number including Lecturers, Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professor, Ph.D Botany(Principal)are taking keen interest in teaching.More than 5000 Students are studying in this institute ranging from inter level to M.A/M.Sc level. Research projects are also assigned to students who take interest in research in MSc level.They submit their result to the university in the form of thesis/dissertation.

GPGC BANNU-1: FA/FSc-Part 1 classes will start wef September 7, 2011. Classes of BS-4years will start also wef September 7, 2011

this criteria z not good one.u mentioned that candidates that are already enrolled in m.phil or phd are not eligible to apply.this z very doubtful policy.first student get admission then apply fr scholarship even for foreign scholarships.plz clear ur policy.enrollment in any university is necessary condition.
